Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most people experience only mild discomfort. The sensation is often described as a quick, warm “snap” on the skin. Thanks to the Derma Quad Laser’s cooling technology, treatments are much more comfortable than traditional laser methods.
Are there any side effects?
Most clients experience minimal downtime. Common, temporary side effects can include mild redness, slight swelling, tingling, or tenderness in the treated area, which usually settles within hours to a few days. Occasionally, there may be temporary numbness or slight bruising. Your practitioner will assess your skin and medical history to minimise risk and ensure the treatment is suitable for you.
How long does the treatment take?
Treatment time depends on the area being treated. Your session may also include a quick 15-minute patch test and consultation if it’s your first visit.
Am I suitable for the treatment?
This treatment may not be suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have metal implants in the treatment area (e.g. plates, screws, some dental implants if treating close to the jaw), recent dermal fillers or anti-wrinkle injections in the area (a waiting period may be required), open wounds, active infections, or skin lesions in the treatment area, active or cystic acne in the area. A thorough consultation is mandatory to confirm suitability and ensure your safety.
When can I see the results of this treatment?
Most people begin to notice a visible reduction in hair growth after their second or third treatment, with hair growing back finer, lighter, and more slowly.
The best results are typically achieved from around the sixth session onwards, as each treatment targets hairs that are in the active growth phase. Because this is a one-year unlimited laser hair removal program, you’ll have enough treatments to maximise your results over the course of the year.
How can I maintain these results?
To maintain your results, it’s important to follow the personalised treatment schedule recommended by your practitioner and attend your sessions consistently throughout the 12-month programme. Avoid waxing or plucking between appointments, as the hair follicle needs to remain intact for the laser to work effectively. You can shave as needed and should shave the treatment area around 24 hours before each session. After completing your programme, occasional maintenance sessions may be recommended to manage any new or returning hair growth and keep your skin smoother for longer.
